Absolutely loved reading this — it’s something I’ve been thinking about recently with the musicians and artists I feel connected with and understood by — thank you for bringing words and a new framework to think and feel about these connections!!!

Yes! Relationships that don't fit neatly into a box can lead to so much confusion. If both people aren't willing to be comfortable in that space, and explore the connection, its likely to crumble. So unfortunate but totally worth the ride!

The world needs more of this perspective. As someone who once held on to a black-and-white definition of relationships, I’ve come to understand the truth in this. I think what defines these catalytic relationships is their fleeting nature, no spark can be held forever.

I loved every single second of this and lingered with every word! I found myself in your writing as I too see inspiration in artists (mainly of the music world) and incorporate them into every breath and step I take!

i am so glad i stumbled upon this! just kids is one of my all time favourite books and i’ve always understood their connection was more than lovers. i do find it interesting that so many of these creative connections that we publicly witnessed are from so many decades ago, i wonder if social media is limiting these connections by having an audience who wishes to define every move? i admire that you shared your own experience! i love it 🫶🏽🫶🏽

Thank you so much for reading and for sharing your thoughts!! I definitely think social media and today’s social norms in general play a huge roll in limiting these kind of connections. Glad you enjoyed it<3

thank you for writing this🫂🌠 i clicked because of the picture of patti and robert (i love and appreciate them so much). However reading this i felt so connected to the experiences. I’ve been for over three years now in one of this…….connections and during this time we’ve navigated together through friendship, love, heartbreak, no contact, grieve and back to a stronger and deeper connection again. she’s my friend, she’s my love (in a crazy way), she’s light in my life and i’m convienced that we’re in each others life’s for a greater purpose. It’s really incredible being able to read experiences us as humans share

this is a very interesting perspective to relationships. I had initially known about how creativity and sexual energy originate from the same point, but I had never thought of how it could cause dynamics between people. thank you!

I don't think this approach works for everybody, Agree that not all relationships are romantic or sexual. Yet building relationships with the intention of benefiting from any possible creative impulses it can provide for me is a bit weird, its like seeing the other person as a vessel for an inspiration until they get you what you want, I think meaningful relationships need to be built and sustained on the basis of a shared goal or the unawareness on the cause of the pull between the two, not to see if the other person might be useful in my creating process or personal growth, cause if that's the case it's already called a situationship or a fling, where the individuals don't know why they keep seeing each other but when they do, it gets sexual, then its a fling or situationship, its not something deeper
